If you are having your own chargers installed in your own parking bay you will incur three different fees;
1) the cost to install your charger - Typically £800-900 + £350 saved by claiming the OZEV grant.
2) a monthly ‘line rental’ fee - typically £30-40 monthly.
3) the cost of the energy you consume billed at the end of the month.

Yes. We integrate with Klarna who offer the opportunity to either defer payment by 30 days or spread the payment out over either 3 or 4 payments.
You’ll find this option when you come to pay in our website checkout.
-
Your charger comes with a 5 year warranty. If treated nicely then it should last significantly longer than that.
-
Your monthly Line Rental charge includes the costs to install, maintain and manage the EV infrastructure at your property ongoing. This can include maintenance, standing charges and a whole load of cabling and thinking up front at the start of the project.
Cosmic incur these costs and then recover them back through our ‘Line Rental’ billing model so that members of the community only bear the costs when they start using the infrastructure.
This ensures that projects can proceed without up front contributions for the entire community (which is understandably tricky sometimes).

Your Charger: You pay for your charger upon placement of your order with us via our website. Of course you can use payment options to spread these payments if helpful (see above).
Line Rental: Your line rental charges will commence the moment you attempt to use your charger for the first time and will roll monthly unless cancelled. Be sure to sign a new agreement each year to avoid increased charges.
Energy: The energy you consume is billed once monthly.

The energy markets constantly change and we move with them. Our goal is always to secure the best possible rates for you. When energy is cheaper, driving an EV becomes even more compelling and so does joining Cosmic.
Our typical rates currently include 7 hours of off-peak overnight at £0.27–£0.31, and daytime rates between £0.38–£0.42.
-
Charging your car is cheaper at night because the energy tariffs are more affordable when demand for power is lower.
This typically works really nicely for our community as most drivers like to charge whilst they snooze.
-
There are lots of variables here so we must start with a caveat…
We take average driving conditions, drivers, cars, energy and fuel prices and so on to provide you with indicative cost guidance.
If you drive like a loony, barely drive at all, always carry a ton of bricks in the boot and so on (you get the picture) then your costs may stray from the average.

Installing an EV charger in a rented property usually requires your landlord to agree. We’ve written a quick guide for renters that explains your options.
