Our Founders Jay and Rob share a passion for great products, building inspiring teams and working on the challenges that our climate emergency is presenting us.
Co-founder
Jay Stevens has been working in the EV industry since before there were viable electric vehicles on the market.
He is passionate about ensuring that we all get to share in the benefits of this transition to a sustainable transport future. Charging at home is critical to mass adoption. But ‘home’ isn’t just the leafy suburbs with their driveways.
Applying his vast industry experience working with the largest homebuilders and contractors, Jay is tackling EV charging in large multi-dwelling properties and in doing so ensuring those in urban areas can take part in this exciting movement.
James was vital in contributing to various landmark industry moments. Most notably he consulted heavily on the recently introduced Part S building regulation requiring every new home with parking to also install EV charging facilities.
Liverpool fan. Determined golf novice. Father to Colin the Collie.

Co-founder
Rob Hughes’ background in property, energy and for the last 8 years EV charging, knits in with Cosmic's mission perfectly.
Throughout his career Rob has observed a sense of colleagues, clients, policy makers and businesses "wanting to get sustainable stuff done" but struggling through misinformation, solutions almost fully formed and conflicts on their already constrained budgets.
Rob was key in proposing and then assisting in implementing the Government Infrastructure Grant which now offers up to £30k per multi-tenancy dwelling of grant funding to assist with EV charging.
With Cosmic, Rob is cutting through the noise and technical complexity to offer simple actionable solutions for EV charging installations.
Stoke City fan. Zero to hero (and back to zero) cyclist. Father to Wilf and Solly the (ex)street dogs.
