Phase 1: Installing enabling infrastructure at your property

  • Disruption will be very limited during our installation. 

    We schedule works to minimise the impact to parking areas by working in small phases. This typically lasts for a couple of days and will require you to move your car out of your parking bay.

  • Cabling will be installed throughout the car park to ensure that it is ultimately in place in the immediate vicinity of your bay. 

    In underground car parks this is normally run on the ceiling or walls. Outside installations sometimes require ground works.

  • In your area of the car park we expect activity will take c.1-3 days although this is always communicated in our installation plan prior to starting a project.

  • Updates are available on our website - we create a dedicated page for each installation which is renewed regularly.

  • Yes. If you don’t move your car we may be unable to proceed with the installation or you may increase the risk of damage to your vehicle. Cosmic are not liable for damage in these circumstances.

  • Sometimes we need to temporarily turn power supplies off when we make final connections to our hardware. These ‘shutdowns’ are normally limited to 2 hours or so and will be communicated in advance to you. Unless stated otherwise they will only impact communal services such as lights in the car park area.

Phase 2: Getting your own charger installed

  • We are normally able to install a single charger within 3-4 hours although we will keep you updated if this changes.

  • We will be installing your charger, the cabling required to connect it to our ‘Phase 1’ infrastructure and any circuit protection devices required.

    Where the charger needs an additional mount we will also be undertaking works to install that.

  • In your area of the car park we expect activity will take c.1-3 days although this is always communicated in our installation plan prior to starting a project.

  • You will be notified by Cosmic of your installation date and time in advance.

    If you have any issues on the day please call Cosmic.

    Our engineer will typically call you prior to attendance to ensure you’re ready for them.

  • Yes. If you don’t move your car we may be unable to proceed with the installation or you may increase the risk of damage to your vehicle. Cosmic are not liable for damage in these circumstances.

  • We will endeavour to accommodate any requests you have for charger location.

    We do however retain the right to select the final location which may be determined by safety, electrical regulations, insurer requirements, time or cost.

  • Cosmic work with a selected few charging manufacturers. We do so in order to secure the best value for our customers and to ensure the quality and consistency of maintenance and operation.

  • We typically aim to install within 15 working days - often it can be much quicker.
